The Stage Of Change

If there’s one stage in our lives where we would have to deal with change in almost all facets of our being, this would be the puberty stage. This stage, occurring between ages 8 and 13 in girls and ages 10 and 15 in boys, is a stage that characterizes the shift from childhood to adulthood. It is during this period when special hormones are released from the pituitary glands in order for the different parts of the body to grow and develop.

Veering away from the rather technical side of this stage, puberty is actually a period in our lives that is most difficult because of the complexities that it can bring. Aside from the hormonal and physical changes that occurs in our bodies during puberty, the social and emotional aspects of our lives are affected as well. Therefore, it is not enough to keep ourselves stuck on the physical changes alone, but on the other aspects as well.

For teens who are undergoing the puberty stage, they will also learn to appreciate the opposite sex as well, in a far greater extent than they used to when they were merely children. Sure, crushes and puppy loves have always been there, but as we start to grow old and mature, so does our feelings entail changes. This is the time when most teens start to get involve in relationships that are a little more than platonic in nature.

Of course, soliciting advice on romantic relationships would be extremely hard at this point, but the most general thing that we must consider is not to enter in intimate relationships unless we are ready to do so. Otherwise, our lack of maturity in handling relationships like these will not be realized to its full potential.
