Dealing With Stress

If you are having panic attacks, and you are beginning to have problems with regards to sleeping, alcohol and food intake, or your frequently feeling sadness or depression, you just might already be having a stress overload. While stress in itself is already bad news, stress overload is much worse. The following are ways that will help you to cope:

  1. Do not “overschedule”Overscheduling istrying to fit in too many tasks and responsibilities at a very short period of time. Overscheduling should be avoided because the drive to finish everything will mean less time for yourself; less time to eat, rest, and to sleep well.
  2. Be realisticBeing realistic means saying no. Saying no, especially when you think that you are overtiring yourself, is important because otherwise, you are only causing yourself too much stress.
  3. Rest wellResting well is a good technique in managing stress because a stressed-out person is not very productive. Plus, too much stress and too little rest is a bad combination: It will definitely take its toll on your body.
  4. RelaxRelaxing is another way of resting. By relaxing, one can release the negative energies caused by stress. It is good for attaining a better sense of well-being.
  5. Indulge yourselfIndulge in simple pleasures to reward yourself when you finish one task so that you have something to look forward to, instead of finishing your tasks just for the sake of saying that you are done with it.
  6. Eat rightEating right is equally important because if you do not eat the right kind and amount of foods, your body will not feel well enough to work well.
