Harmful Effects of Obesity

Some parents consider fatness as signs of health. This is especially true with kids. But facts speak for themselves: Regardless of age, too much fat is actually bad for a person’s health. Aside from the self-image problems that overweight kids and teens may have, they are also susceptible to heart diseases and other complicated illnesses, such as diabetes.

People who are overweight are thise who take in more calories than they can burn. These calories convert itself into fat, and thus causes a person to become overweight. Although there are some people who are on the heavy side, yet remains healthy, majority of those who do not follow their prescribed body weight are headed are not healthy, and are likely to have an onset of a variety of diseases.

Obesity runs in families. However, it is not impossible to manage one’s body weight as long as one eats the right kinds of food and follows a regular exercise routine.

More than being an issue of physical appearance, being overweight may also cause the following problems:

(1) Blount’s disease, (2) Arthritis, (3)  Asthma, (4) Sleep Apnea, (5) High Blood, (6) High Cholesterol, (7) Insulin resistance and Diabetes and (8) Depression.

A Take On Exercise

Losing weight means a lot to teens because they perceive that an appealing body structure is one of the standards of beauty. This notion is, of course, debatable. But working on that assumption, it is thus important to choose a good method of losing weight.

Instead of bumming around and being a couch potato, teens ought to do some physical activity just so they can burn the fats that they have consumed. This is a safer and better way of losing weight compared to the other options that the market has opened to a lot of people, such as diet pills, surgeries like liposuctions and the likes. The benefits of exercise outweighs the speedy results of the aforementioned means for losing weight. Aside from the advantages of losing weight, exercise can also help in sharpening the mind of teens. It can also improve their sense of well-being, which reflects the way that they carry themselves.

In order to be able to stick to a good exercise routine, it is necessary for teens, as well as the other people who want to lose weight, to consider a physical activity that they like. In addition to that, their exercise routine should be something that they will not interfere too much with their daily routines so as not to disturb his or her daily activities.
