Away From The Sedentary Lifestyle

I read an article a few days ago about the possibility that exercise might be the key for people to veer away from substance abuse. The article made mention of a study which found that youngsters and teens who reported to exercise everyday were half less likely to engage in illegal substance abuse activities such as smoking pot and the likes than the youngsters and teens with sedentary lifestyles do.

If this is true, then we’re on to a great solution to one of the biggest problems concerning drugs.

We all know that in spite of the hazards of substance abuse, a huge number of teens, youngsters, and even the adults, abuse certain illegal substances. This is the cause of violence, crimes, early pregnancies and the likes. In short, there are immeasurable negative effects of substance abuse to the society. The challenge now is to find an alternative that would put an end to this phenomena. If exercise id the key, so be it. But the greater challenge here, I think, is to have the teens and the youngsters do rigorous exercise.

Evidently, more and more young people are opting to lead sedentary lifestyles. They simply don’t enjoy engaging in physical activities as much as the others who belong in the older generation used to. Why is this so? I don’t know, either. Further surveys can be done to look into the reasons behind this. The New Age may be a contributing factor, if you ask me. But what’s important now is to ake people realize the importance of being physically active, and to make them start stretching their bones as soon as possible.
